Cameron says his 'shy' wife needs to be told she is 'brilliant' and 'looks amazing'

London, Mar 21 (ANI): British Prime Minister David Cameron has revealed that his spotlight shy wife Samantha needed reassurance that she was 'brilliant' in public and 'looked amazing' on her first official visit abroad.

The 45-year-old's rare comments about his wife have come after the couple spent last week in Washington visiting US President Barack Obama.

The Camerons were the guests of honour at the biggest party ever hosted by the President, with film star George Clooney and Vogue editor Anna Wintour among the other party-goers.

During the visit, Samantha, with her stylish dress and reserved demeanour, was constantly compared to First Lady, Michelle Obama, who plays a more active public role.

"It is intense," the Telegraph quoted the Prime Minister as telling Grazia magazine.

"So I just say, 'You're brilliant at it, you look amazing, you're fantastic with people, so just be yourself'," he said.

Samantha has never spoken in public and is known to shy away from the limelight.

After their official engagements, Cameron treated his wife to a private dinner in New York to say "thank you" for surviving the ordeal of public attention. (ANI)
