JKLF Chairman Yasin Malik says his information on memo issue can resolve political crisis in Pakist

London, Tue, 20 Mar 2012 ANI

London, Mar 20 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Yasin Malik has claimed that he possesses information about the Memo Gate scandal, which could help resolve the political crisis in Pakistan.

"I know so many things. If I am provided an opportunity to appear before the court, my statement will reveal the truth for which people in the whole Subcontinent are waiting," The Nation quoted Malik, as saying.

Pakistani national Mushaal Malik, the wife of the JKLF chairman, has earlier submitted an application to the memo commission that his husband should be allowed before the panel to enable him reply to the allegations levelled against him by Pakistani-American businessman Mansoor Ijaz.

The appearance of Yasin's name in the controversy has now also included a Kashmir perspective in the issue.

Yasin, through his lawyer Zafar Shah has asked Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in a four-page application that his appearance before the memo commission will give a meaningful help in resolving the matter.

The application says Ijaz has tried to defame Yasin earlier as well, while sources say they had also exchanged harsh words ten years back. (ANI)
