'Naive' Bopara eyeing renaissance after failing against Lankans in 2007

London, Wed, 14 Mar 2012 ANI

London, March 14(ANI): England batsman Ravi Bopara is looking for resurgence in the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka, as his last experience against them in 2007 was quite 'embarrassing'.

Bopara would try to wipe out memories of his three successive ducks in the third, fourth and fifth innings of his Test career.

The Essex batsman will bat at No 6 in the two-Test series following the removal of Irish-born batsman Eoin Morgan.

"That series didn't go great. I just want to set the record straight. I think it's important for me and the people who follow me to do that," The Sun quoted Bopara, as saying.

"Back then, I was young and a bit na?ve. I have more confidence in my ability now," he added. (ANI)
