Washington, Mar 10(ANI): Former Indian -origin Rutgers University student Dharun Ravi never spoke against homosexuality, seven defence witnesses have claimed.

They added they had never discussed the homosexuality issue with him or followed Ravi on Twitter and exchanged text messages with him in this regard.

Most witnesses were either software engineers or current or former business associates of Ravi's father, CBS News reports.

The witnesses' one- hour testimony dispute the prosecutor's case, who had claimed that Ravi used Twitter, instant messages and texts to disclose the encounter to his friends.

Ravi is currently facing trial on 15 counts, including bias intimidation and invasion of privacy, for web-streaming his gay roommate Tyler Clementi's intimate encounter with his date in September 2010.

Clementi had committed suicide, after he came to know about the alleged spying. (ANI)
