John McCain's wife stands up for Sarah Palin over 'unfair portrayal'

Washington, Fri, 09 Mar 2012 ANI

Washington, Mar 9 (ANI): John McCain's wife Cindy has objected to Sarah Palin's portrayal in the upcoming HBO movie 'Game Change'.

The former presidential candidate's wife insisted that she is not going to see the flick.

"I'm truly sorry if they depicted her in any fashion other than a strong and independent woman," the Politico quoted Cindy as saying on CNN's 'Piers Morgan Tonight'.

"I think what happened to her was entirely unfair."

"I am not going to see 'Game Change.' I lived this, and from everything I've read and heard, it doesn't even resemble what took place - I can go to Disneyland for fiction," she said.

She also addressed the topic with grace and humour.

"I will say, Ed Harris [who plays John McCain] is not nearly as cute as my husband," she said.

John McCain has also said that he would not be watching the movie, calling it inaccurate and criticizing the book upon which it is based.

"It's based on a book that is full of unattributed quotes, things that absolutely never happened, and if it's based on that book, which I was briefed on, then, of course, it can't be accurate," the Arizona Republican said on CBS's 'This Morning' on Monday. (ANI)
