Massive fire razes slum colony in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, Mar 8 (ANI): Over 300 shanties were burnt down when a massive fire broke out on early Thursday morning in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad city.

 

It is reported that the fire broke out at around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday.

 

At least 12 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the rising flames.

 

"There were around 600-700 shanties, out of which 200-300 have been devastated. The fire officials are trying to douse the fire and we still do not have full information. Around 12-13 fire tenders have reached the site from Noida as well as Ghaziabad fire stations," said Arun Kumar Singh, a police official.

 

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

 

So far, no casualties have been reported but there has been a huge loss of property. (ANI)
