150 hospitalised after colour poisoning in Mumbai

Mumbai, Mar 8 (ANI): At least 150 people, mostly children, were hospitalized after developing allergic chemical reaction to colours while celebrating Holi in Mumbai's Dharavi area on Thursday.

 

The incident occurred in the Shastrinagar area of Dharavi this afternoon where Holi celebrations were in full swing.

 

The victims were immediately rushed to the Lokmanya Tilak municipal general hospital at Sion to receive immediate medical attention.

 

According to hospital sources the affected persons complained of giddiness and vomiting.

 

Some cases have been reported to be serious.

 

Among those hospitalised include children aged 9-10 years.

 

The number of patients is expected to rise as more people complaining of allergy are being brought to the hospitals as the day progresses. (ANI)
