Neo-Nazi German clothing brand causes outrage for opening shop named after Norway slaughterer

Berlin , Wed, 07 Mar 2012 ANI

Berlin, Mar 7(ANI): A German clothing brand, which is understood to be famous with neo-Nazis, has caused indignation among officials in the city of Chemnitz in eastern Germany, after it opened a store with a name similar to the Norwegian fanatic, who killed scores of people in a callous attack last summer.

The Thor Steinar clothing shop is named 'Brevik,' and has enthused memories of the horrendous attack by Anders Behring Breivik.

Breivik abused online against Islam before bombing a car outside Oslo government offices and hounding down young people at a political summer camp to slaughter them.

A shop with a name like that is absolutely out of the question. We've already contacted the landlord and we will be taking all necessary steps to see that the store is closed as fast as possible," The Los Angeles Time quoted Chemnitz spokeswoman Katja Uhlemann, as saying.

The company said the name, like those of its other stores, was simply based on a Norwegian town, Die Welt reported. Brevik, one letter away from Breivik, is a town south of Oslo. (ANI)
