Samajwadi Party takes front seat in UP, SAD-BJP in Punjab

Lucknow, Mar 6 (ANI): With the counting of votes underway in five states of the country, the Samajwadi Party (SP) is leading in 187 seats in Uttar Pradesh, while the SAD-BJP alliance is ahead in Punjab.

 

As per the latest trends in UP, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is leading in 96 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 52 seats. The Congress-RLD alliance is trailing at the fourth place by leading in 46 seats.

 

In Punjab, the SAD-BJP alliance is set to retain power as it was leading in 71 out of the total 117 assembly constituencies. The Congress is leading in 54 seats while Independents were leading in two constituencies of Mukerian and Amargarh.

 

In Uttarakhand, a neck-and-neck battle between the BJP and Congress is on for the 70-member legislative assembly.

 

As per the latest trend in Uttarakhand, the Congress is leading in 31 seats, while the BJP is ahead in 26 seats.

 

The BJP is leading in 17 seats in Goa, while the Congress is ahead in eight seats.

 

In Manipur, the Congress is on its way to a hat-trick with chief minister Ibobi Singh likely to return to power. The ruling party in Manipur has so far bagged 14 seats and is leading in another 14 others in the 60-member Assembly. (ANI)
