Samajwadi Party leading in 148 seats in UP, big jolt to BSP

Lucknow, Mar 6 (ANI): With the counting of votes underway in five states of the country, the Samajwadi Party (SP) is leading in 148 seats in Uttar Pradesh.

 

As per the latest trends, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 64 seats, whereas the BSP is leading in 73 seats. The Congress-RLD alliance is trailing at the fourth place by leading in 42 seats.

 

Among prominent candidates BJP vice-president Kalraj Mishra in Lucknow East, Uma Bharati in Charkhari, Shivpal Singh Yadav in Jaswantnagar and UPPCC president Rita Bahuguna Joshi in Lucknow Cantt were leading.

 

The results will decide the fate of candidates in 690 assembly seats --- 403 in UP, 117 seats in Punjab, 70 in Uttarakhand, 60 in Manipur and 40 in Goa. (ANI)
