Ratan Tata, Cyrus Mistry meet Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda

Ranchi, Mar 3 (ANI): Tata Group Chairman Ratan Naval Tata and his deputy and chairman designate Cyrus Mistry met Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda here.

 

Both spent a considerable amount of time discussing ways to further contribute to the state's development.

 

Tata, who will retire in December, said that he was currently engaged in acquainting Mistry with his responsibilities.

 

"In no special focus I would continue to do what I am doing, plus help Mr. Mistry have a smooth transition to take over from me when I step away in December," said Tata.

 

Tata expressed strong faith in Munda's leadership.

 

"We have been in Jharkhand for over 100 years, and this is a very important part of the country for us. I feel very happy to come here again, I was here when this chief minister was the chief minister earlier, I have terrific faith and confidence of his strong desire to make Jharkhand a progressive state in India, and I hope that Tatas can be a participant and contribute and be a partner in that development," said Ratan Tata.

 

Munda expressed happiness over his proposed assistance by the Tatas to support the state government in the setting up of a proposed knowledge centre and an Indian Institute of Information Technology.

 

Echoing on the lines of the Ratan Tata, Mistry said : "It is very important for us to realise that the fountain spring for the Tata group was in Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, and it is something which we all should not forget. And we make sure that we keep that fountain spring always alive and well and looked after. I can only promise that I will make sure that in the future we are a partner in your progress with the state to make sure that we give back as much as we make," said Mistry.

 

Tata Steel is located in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. This industrial was founded by the late Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata.

 

It is also known as Steel City, Tata Nagar or simply Tata. (ANI)
