Sonia Gandhi travels abroad for medical checkup

New Delhi, Feb 28 (ANI): Congress President Sonia Gandhi has travelled abroad for a routine medical checkup and is expected to return home within a week.

"Congress President Sonia Gandhi has travelled abroad for routine checkup after six months of her earlier treatment. She will return after four-five days," said Congress spokesperson Janardhan Dwivedi.

The UPA chairperson had earlier travelled to the United States for surgery in August last year, and spent nearly six weeks there.

Gandhi, 64, had returned from the United States on September 8.

Gandhi had then constituted a four-member team comprising her son and party General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, Defence Minister AK Antony, her political advisor Ahmed Patel and party General Secretary Janardhan Dwivedi to look after party affairs in her absence. (ANI)
