Melbourne, Feb 28 (ANI): The Australian cricketers' ladies paraded into Crown for the Allan Border Medal in Melbourne, flaunting fashionable outfits with plunging backlines and bling on the fingers, ears and wrists.
Ricky Ponting's wife, Rianna, sported a blue gown by Steven Khalil, the same designer who made her wedding dress.
"I can't sit down," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted her as saying.
"I did the mermaid slide into the car."
She also wore Nic Cerrone diamonds on her fingers, gifted by her husband when she gave birth to daughters Emmy and Matisse.
Michael Clarke, made a bold statement stepping out with partner, Kyly Boldy. She went for serious red-carpet glamour in a black Louis Vuitton gown that she was stitched into.
"I can't get out of it," she quipped.
Apparently symbolising an expensive baggy green, Shane Watson's wife, Lee Furlong, wore a divine green velvet gown by Johanna Johnson, a label with Oscars cachet after Bridesmaids star Maya Rudolph wore a purple one. Furlong hailed the designer.
"She makes the most beautiful things. I'm really thrilled she could make it for me," Furlong said.
Mitchell Johnson's wife, Jessica, who had a swept-up hairdo to beat the frizz, wore a red and black gown by Perth label Zhivago and had an exclusive access to accessories from her own label Jessica Bratich.
There was more green from Julia Barry, partner of Matthew Wade, in an emerald green gown that she designed and was sewn by Flinders Lane couturier Shirley Keon from Keon Couture.
Cameron White arrived with partner Jacqui Morris, a Minter Ellison lawyer who sported a Rachel Gilbert gown and Kozminsky jewellery.
"I've been coming for seven years," she said.
