Chisora 'afraid of annoyed mother' over lifetime boxing ban possibility

London, Sun, 26 Feb 2012 ANI

London, Feb 26 (ANI): Dereck Chisora, who may be facing a lifetime boxing ban for his antics inside and outside the ring, has said he is afraid of his mother and "really embarrassed" about his behaviour.

British Boxing Board of Control chiefs are to consider taking Chisora's licence away on March 14.

Chisora said everyone is so annoyed with me, "especially my mother."

"The first words she said when I got home were 'what are you going to do now if they take away your licence? There was nothing to say to her. All I could do was keep quiet," The Sun quoted him, as saying.

"I am afraid of my mother, she is worried they'll take away my licence to box and where I'll go to from here," Chisora added.

The chaos started when Chisora slapped Vitali Klitschko at the weigh-in as the pair posed for the traditional head-to-head pictures.

"I think about it now and I am really embarrassed. It was a a spontaneous act, not something premeditated, something kicked in and it just happened and then I immediately regretted it," he said.

"I was thinking to myself 'What did I do that for?' My trainer Don Charles was very cross. 'Why? Why?' he kept asking, but I didn't know why. I was doing my best to keep myself calm," Chisora added. (ANI)
