Five people, including one Iranian injured in Bangkok explosions

Bangkok , Tue, 14 Feb 2012 ANI

Bangkok, Feb 14 (ANI): A series of bomb blasts rocked Thai capital Bangkok on Tuesday, leaving at least five people, including an Iranian man, severely injured.

An Iranian man was injured while throwing a bomb at the Thai police. The bomb hit a tree and rebounded towards him and exploded.

According to a television news report, an Iranian man carrying a black bag hurled the first bomb at a taxi after the driver refused to accept him as a passenger. The cab driver was among the injured.

When police arrived at the scene, the man then threw a second bomb at them, but it hit a tree, rebounded towards him and exploded, The Bangkok Post reports.

He lost both of his legs in the blast, the report said.

The reports of blast in Bangkok come a day after two bomb attacks targeted Israeli diplomats in India and Georgia.

Israel has accused Iran and Lebanon's Hezbollah of orchestrating the attacks. Iran, however, denies the claims. (ANI)
