New Delhi, Tue, 14 Feb 2012 ANI

New Delhi, Feb 14 (ANI): The Home Ministry has ordered tightening of security of diplomatic missions throughout India, after an explosion in an Israeli Embassy car took place in New Delhi on Monday.

An alert has been sounded and security strengthened in Mumbai. Armed Quick Response teams of Mumbai police have been deployed at the Consulate General of Israel in the Metropolis besides those areas, which have an Israeli population and their religious places.

At least four people, including one lady employee of the Israeli Embassy, sustained injuries in the explosion, which occurred in an Innova car near Aurangzeb road, close to Israeli mission.

According to the Home Ministry, initial probe suggests attachment of foreign substance in the Israeli Embassy car, which exploded.

External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna on Monday had strongly condemned the incident and said the law of the land will take its own course and the culprits will be brought to justice at the earliest.

Krishna also spoke to his Israeli counterpart, Avigdor Lieberman and assured him that he would keep him posted on the progress in the probe. (ANI)
