Teenage girl from Bhopal pens down 'Ramacharita Manas' in mirror writing

Bhopal, Feb 12 (ANI): Kanishka Singh, a young student from Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal city has successfully penned down the holy Hindu scripture, 'Ramacharita Manas' in reverse writing.

In common parlance, reverse writing is a script that is legible on holding a mirror.ingh's stellar effort has won her praise and awe from all quarters, with admirers marveling at the fact that this teenager not only chose this complex scripture as her first endeavour in reverse writing, but also managed to do justice to the task.

Kanihka Singh revealed she took three years to complete the entire copy of Ramcharita Manas in mirror writing.

"I took nearly three years to complete the task of writing the Ramcharita Manas in reverse. I did not face any problems as such. In the beginning, however, I started writing on both sides of the sheets, but realised later that it would hamper the visual effect of the text's mirror image. So, I had to begin all over," said Kanishka Singh.

Interestingly, the ever-smiling 20-year-old was drawn to the art of mirror writing ever since she got curious on how the word 'ambulance' written on a van appeared to be written in a strange script at first glance but could be read easily through a mirror.

"The text I have written can be read normally before a mirror. Normally, if we write something normally, it will appear in reverse before a mirror. So, I write text according to the image of an alphabet formed in a mirror. That is how, when you ready my text before a mirror, it can be read legitimately," added Singh.

Ably supported and backed by her parents, Singh hopes to someday find a place in the record books with her talent.

Singh has now set her eyes on developing her skills further, and plans to write a copy of the Bible in reverse.

Several personalities in history, such as the famous polymath Leonardo Da Vinci, have been noted experts in the art of mirror writing. (ANI)
