Manmohan Singh assures new President of Maldives of continued support

New Delhi, Feb 8 (ANI): Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has assured the new President of Maldives Dr. Mohamed Waheed of continued support to the Maldivian people and cooperation with the Government of Maldives.


Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in his felicitation letter to President Dr. Waheed said India is committed working with the Government of Maldives for the continued security and prosperity of both the countries.


"As a close and friendly neighbour, India will always continue to support the Maldivian people's efforts to build a stable, peaceful and prosperous country. Our two countries share a common destiny and have common security interests," said Dr. Singh in his letter to Dr. Waheed.


"India is committed to working with you and the Government in Maldives to further enhance our close, bilateral cooperation to mutual benefit and for the continued security, progress and prosperity of our two countries," he further added. (ANI)
