Daniel Radcliffe miffed with Oscar's 'snobbery' over Potter

London, Tue, 07 Feb 2012 ANI

London, Feb 7 (ANI): Daniel Radcliffe has said that the 'Harry Potter' films have been overlooked for Oscars due to the snobbish attitude of Hollywood.

The 22-year-old actor said it was unfair that 'Hugo', the Martin Scorsese children's film, should be feted by the Academy while the Potter franchise was ignored.

All eight Potter films were snubbed by the Oscars, including the last, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II'.

"There's a certain amount of snobbery," the Telegraph quoted Radcliffe as telling Radio Times.

"It's kind of disheartening. I never thought I'd care. But it would've been nice to have some recognition, just for the hours put in.

"I don't think the Oscars like commercial films, or kids' films, unless they're directed by Martin Scorsese. I was watching Hugo the other day and going, 'Why is this nominated and we're not?' I was slightly miffed," he said. (ANI)
