Islamabad, Feb 6 (ANI): Pakistan Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has taken suo moto notice of the target killing of Balochistan lawmaker Bakhtiar Domki's wife and daughter.

Chaudhry has reportedly summoned Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Shah and the Advocate General (AG) of Sindh to appear before a three-member bench of the apex court, The News reports.

A strike was observed in parts of Balochistan earlier this month in protest against the killing of Domki's wife and daughter.

They, along with their driver, were killed in Karachi's Gizri area last Tuesday.

The strike call given by the Baloch Republican Party was supported by the Balochistan National Party-Mengal and National Party.

Shops and business centres remained closed and vehicular traffic was thin on roads in Quetta, Khuzdar, Kalat, Mastung, Panjgur, Gwadar, Turbat, Awaran, Kharan, Sibi, Nasirabad, Jaffarabad, Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Bolan and some other areas.

Balochistan Assembly Speaker Mohammad Aslam Bhootani, provincial Finance Minister Mir Asim Kurd, Pakistan Muslim League-Q MPA Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhel, Minister for Industries and BNP-Awami leader Syed Ahsan Shah, minister without portfolio Nasreen Khaitran and others also expressed grief and sorrow over the brutal and senseless murder.
