Pak batting performance against England in ongoing Test series satisfactory: Miandad

Islamabad, Thu, 02 Feb 2012 ANI

Islamabad, Feb 2 (ANI): Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad has said Pakistan's batting performance against England in the ongoing Test series between the two countries in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is quite satisfactory.

"Apart from Younus Khan, every Pakistan batsman has scored at least one fifty in first two Tests in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, but no one has been able to score a hundred," the Express Tribune quoted Miandad, as saying.

"Above all the result is there, Pakistan has beaten England quite convincingly with huge margin in both Tests," he added.

In the first two test matches in Gulf due to the Decision review system (DRS), both team's batting approach has been cautious as batsmen from either side were not playing sweep shots to spinners to avoid Lbw through DRS.

Regarding the Decision Review System (DRS), Miandad said DRS was a rule that applied to both teams, and so no one can blame the other.

Miandad said the English batting was vulnerable against spin and Pakistan had the advantage of match winning spinners.

"In Test cricket bowling win matches and Pakistan have the luxury of three strike bowlers in their line up who are all having match winners and all of them are in good form. That's why they are producing results," he added. (ANI)
