Barack Obama leads Ron Paul in merchandise sales

Washington, Tue, 31 Jan 2012 ANI

Washington, Jan 31 (ANI): Barack Obama has beaten Ron Paul in merchandise sales at the merchandise website CafePress, for the first time this election cycle.

The site is known for sales of funny and serious T-shirts and other gifts, designed by users.

Paul had led the site's 2012 campaign-related sales trends metre since it launched in November, but after last week's State of the Union address, the President's gear sales shot up leaving the Texas congressman behind.

This week, Obama-tagged sales led Paul-tagged sales 46 percent to 33 percent, according to CafePress. The previous week, Obama was only in third place with 12 percent, behind Paul's 66 percent and Mitt Romney's 13 percent, Politico reported.

Still, anti-Obama merchandise sales outweigh pro-Obama sales on the site, 55 percent to 45 percent. (ANI)
