Joey Barton's 'electricity saving family ghost' revealed in Twitter banter

London, Jan 25 (ANI): Joey Barton's wife believes that she and her football star husband are haunted by a friendly ghost who turns off their telly to save electricity.

Georgia McNeil, 25, who gave birth to Joey's son Cassius at Christmas, believes the kindly spirit switches off items when they are not in the room.

The bizarre claim was revealed during a spot of Twitter banter between Joey and his QPR team-mate Bradley Orr.

The 29-year-old claimed that Orr was the most gullible footballer he had ever met and even tweeted Ricky Gervais, 50, to recommend he goes on TV's An Idiot Abroad.

The Queens Park Rangers captain claimed Orr had fallen for a series of scams and had once claimed to have seen a ghost wearing a pair of Reeboks.

But Orr, 29, hit back by revealing about the 'friendly ghost' that saved electricity.

"Why don't u tell everyone about the ghost that lives in ur house who turns the TV and radio off for you so u save on the leccy? the Daily Star quoted Orr as tweeting.

"One of the biggest liars ive ever come across. Friendly ghosts who help u save on the leccy bill? Unbelievable Joseph!

"Take no notice of the compulsive liar Joey Barton.

"The only truth in any of them tales is that i once saw the ghost of a monk but he deffo never had Reebok classics on!" he said.

Barton hit back by saying that the 'friendly ghost' claim was made by his wife and not by him.

"u know that I said I never seen anything and that was my missus. Stop trying to twist it Brad. U said it so stand by ur words," Barton tweeted.

"I've played with some Space cadets in my time but this fella is right up there! Comes out with classic statements each week.

"Classic last week. That he seen a UFO hovering 20ft over a KFC. Lazy alien b*stards, wouldnt even Q in the drive-thru?

"Probably the most gullible man on the planet that fella. A village is missing its idiot," he added. (ANI)
