Islamabad, Wed, 25 Jan 2012 ANI

Islamabad, Jan 25 (ANI): Pakistan Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and DG ISI Lt-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha have jointly expressed that the world should be made aware that the country's sovereignty and integrity would never be compromised again.

The Nation quoted well informed sources, as saying that the meeting was held, ahead of the prime minister's visit to the World Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland, just to give the impression that the political and military leadership of the country have the same opinion about the policy towards the blockade of NATO supplies via Pakistan and other regional security related matters.

Sources further informed that it was the consensus view of the political and military leadership that the country's sovereignty and integrity would never be compromised and the decisions regarding the future course of Pakistan's relations with the United States and other states would be redefined in the light of the recommendations to be made by the joint session of Parliament in the beginning of next week.

The joint session of Parliament would reportedly discuss a set of 35 recommendations to redefine the country's relations with the US, resumption of NATO supplies via Pakistan on new terms and conditions, and the role of Islamabad in the ongoing war on terror in the changed scenario.

The meeting also decided that Pakistan would partner Afghanistan in the steps being taken to redefine its role in the ongoing war on terror.

They further claimed that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani asked Khar to undertake a visit to Afghanistan to discuss the matter. (ANI)
