London, Jan 24(ANI): An illegal immigrant and sham marriage ringleader, who was released from prison on a 1500- pound rehabilitation payment, has used it to set up a new business of offering UK passports in his home country.

Ashar Ali Rathore, 33, came to the UK with his wife Nadia Qadri, 34, on student visa and, subsequently, faked marriages to two Polish people to gain the right of residence in the UK, The Daily Mail reports.

He was jailed on the charges of breaching immigration law, but was allowed to leave the country on a 1500 pound payment under the Facilitated Returns Scheme.

Rathore has used the money to set up Xpress Solutions - a company providing UK passports, visas and driving licences in Kotli, Pakistan.

A video of the launch of Rathore's new office, which has now been removed from YouTube, showed a poster of UK driving licences, passports of various nationalities and a UK National Insurance Number card.

The board in front Rathore's office details facilities offered, including:

'Immigration Appeals', 'Income Tax', 'Passports and ID Cards', 'Mortgages and Property', 'Registering Power of Attorney', 'Legal Paperwork/Statements', 'National and International College/University Admissions', 'Any Legal Disputes' and, 'Any Enquiry Related to the Laws of Cricket'.

It also features an England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) logo, which has been used without permission.

The England Cricket board has vowed to probe the illegal use of logos by Rathore's business, after being alerted to the issue.

Rahore is not facing any probe by the Pakistani authorities.

The UK government has defended its scheme saying that "it saves the taxpayer the cost of keeping foreign national prisoners in prison and denies them the opportunity to re-offend."(ANI)
