Pak preacher converting 108,000 people to Islam wants everyone to become Muslim

Islamabad, Jan 23(ANI): A Pakistani preacher, who has converted 108,000 people to Islam since 1989, has said he desires everyone to become Muslim.

"My heartfelt wish is that the entire world becomes Muslim," The Express Tribune quoted Deen Mohammad Shaikh, as saying.

Shaikh, an ex-Hindu, said he loved Quran but had to initially read it secretly, as there was the risk of being misunderstood if a Muslim caught him with the holy book.

I always loved Islam. I read the Holy Quran and realised that 360 gods were not of any use to me," he said.

He said he also observed the Ramzan fasts and took lessons in the Holy Quran and Hadiths or sayings of the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) from a teacher, Sain Mohammad Jagsi.

He, subsequently, made an aim to convert people to Islam and now heads institutes for conversions to Islam, Jamia Masjid Allah Wali and Madrassa Aisha Taleem-ul Quran.

A small mosque has sprung up in his residential compound along with a number of rooms where children are taught how to say their prayers and recite the Holy Quran.

Despite 108,000 conversions, for which a record is kept, Shaikh says his work is still incomplete, as he wants everyone to be a Muslim and learn from his example.(ANI)
