Elton John's hubby blasts Madonna over Golden globe win

Washington, Jan 17 (ANI): Sir Elton John's husband David Furnish has blasted Madonna, and called her "desperate" and "embarrassing" after she won the Golden Globe award for best original song.

The film director was angry that his singer hubby did not pick up the prize for his efforts on animated movie 'Gnomeo and Juliet' and lost to the pop queen for her song 'Masterpiece' from 'W.E.'

Furnish criticised her on social networking site Facebook.

"Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!" Fox News quoted him as writing.

"Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit.

"Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it's narcissism.

"And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.(sic)"

John started the verbal spat by telling reporters on the red carpet that his rival Madonna "doesn't have a f**king chance of winning tonight," and when asked if those were "fighting words," he replied, "No, those are accurate words".

However, the Material Girl retorted she was ready to fight him to take home the award.

"Was he wearing a dress?" She told Carson Daly.

"Damn him, those are fighting words.

"OK, well may the best man win," she added. (ANI)
