Washington, Sun, 15 Jan 2012 ANI

Washington, Jan 15 (ANI): Oprah Winfrey has revealed that she feels free and is enjoying her new found "freedom" after stepping down from her talk show after 25 years, as she is no longer tied to one place.

The 57-year-old TV host ruled the airwaves in America with her daily chat show, which pulled in millions of viewers and made her one of the richest and most powerful broadcasters in the U.S.

She brought the format to a close in 2011 to launch the Own network, and is now working on several projects for the station and she admits not being "tethered" to her studio in Chicago, Illinois every day has brought more diversity to her career.

"I love the freedom of not being tethered to that chair and having to do an interview based upon filling a quota on a number of shows," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

"When you have 200 shows a year to do, you do a lot of things that you like and a lot of things you would, maybe, want to pass on.

"Part of this (the network) is getting to do exactly what I wanted to do when I ended 'The Oprah Show'.

"People think I have seen the world.

"I haven't seen the world because my work kept me in one space and it was necessary to be in that space.

"I get to open that door for myself and bring other people in to see the world," she added. (ANI)
