Organized jointly under the aegis of Tripura Science and Technology Department and Tripura Council of Education Research and Training, the fair showcased innovative science projects of young students.

The five-day long fair aimed to increase awareness about the need for science education and motivate youth towards research and development.

"There are more than 57 models displayed in the fair and more than 50 schools participated in the fair which promotes science and technology among students. Many colleges and regional institutes are also participating this year," said Akbar Ahmad, Organizer, 30TH Science Exhibition, Tripura.

Visitors showed keen interest in the work of young students, who enthusiastically answered all their queries.

"Be it a boy or a girl the trend is to become either a doctor or an engineer. But very few want to become scientists and fairs like this one can encourage the youth to become scientists, which would be a good thing for our future," said Nabarup Ganguli, a participant.

With India aiming to become a global player, the emphasis on research and development has increased significantly. The northeast can make an important contribution to India's success story through its trained and skilled human resources.

Kakuli Acharjee, an engineer working with the State Department said through this science fair, we attempted to give people the idea that the science department is working hard towards the benefits of people.

"Through this science fair, we try to give people the idea that our science department is working hard towards the benefits of people. Basically, we are giving importance in the earthquake resistance structure because Tripura is under Zone 5 in the seismic Zone 5, so it is very much important whenever you design a building, so it must be earthquake resistant," he said.
