Patna, Nov 4 (ANI): Countering the allegations made by his political opponents, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday said his Government brought back rule of law in the State and delivered justice to every section of the society.

"We fulfilled the promise of establishing rule of law, and delivered justice to women and other sections of the society. Earlier people were afraid of going out of their houses and used to return before sunset, now the fear in their minds has become a thing of the past," said Nitish Kumar.

"Now you can see people even venturing out at night. The scene has changed in places like Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur and other places," he added while addressing an election rally in Sakurabad today.

Nitish Kumar further said there was no report of a single communal clash during the past five years, asserting that it was needless to talk about communal tension and riots.

Further commenting on Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, Nitish Kumar said the 'Pati-Patni' Government ruined the state for 15 years.

"You have voted for a change and we have lived up to your expectations. You gave 15 years to the Pati-Patni to rule, I have come for renewal of our contract just for next five years to complete the unfinished task for bring the state to the category of developed states by 2015," he added.

Further stating that sincere efforts had been made for electrifying all rural huts, Nitish Kumar said the expansion plan of the Barauni and Kanti Thermal Power plants was in progress, while another mega plant was to come at Nabinagar in collaboration with the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).

"Once these projects start generation things will change drastically," he said criticising the Central Government for allegedly blocking several proposals of the State Government for setting up more power plants by not providing coal linkages. (ANI)
