Nov 21: There is a new man in celebrity controversies chart buster, Shahrukh Khan who had landed in a fresh trouble over his love of cricket.
In the latest fiasco Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI has shown its aversion to Shahrukh’s presence on the ground during ODI matches.
BCCI has accused that the actor was never interested in cricket but has used cricket as a medium to promote his film Om Shanti Om (OSO).
To which Shahrukh reacted badly and said, “I am disappointed and he even announced that in future he will not watch cricket matches in the stadium."
“I am an actor and if somebody comes up to me and asks about my film then I have to answer them and it is obvious. From now, onwards I will only send my kids Aryan and Suhana to the stadium to watch the matches and ask them not to tell anyone that they are my kids,” he added further.
In the meantime BCCI has clarified that it does not have a single problem if actors want to come and watch the match.
Recently Shahrukh has appeared in many ODI matches with his son and co-star of OSO, Deepika Padukone. He was present to cheer team India at the final of T20 World Cup final in South Africa.
Though Khan apologised to Manoj Kumar for the later alleged him and Farah Khan for ridiculing him in the movie OSO and threatened him to take to court but this dud with BCCI has certainly disheartened him.
As far as his cricket match watching is concerned, former cricketer Kapil Dev defending Shahrukh Khan's presence at cricket matches says, association of a celebrity like him would popularise the game.
"Like any other cricket fan Shah Rukh took time off to watch a match and there was nothing wrong in it. If the Prime Minister of India comes to watch a match, it is a great thing for cricket," he added.
