Firozabad (Uttar Pradesh), Mar 20(ANI): One worker was killed when a boiler exploded at a glass factory in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad district on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Bantu, who was on duty at the boiler room when the explosion took place.

According to reports, the loud explosion was heard several kilometres away, creating panic in the area.

Kin of the deceased alleged that the blast took place because of negligence.

"The boy was working at the boiler plant in the factory. The blast took place because of the negligence... he was trapped and was unable to escape and was caught in the blast," said Bantu, relative of the deceased.

Meanwhile, police officials have ruled out any foul play and ordered a probe to unearth the hidden facts.

"The blast was caused because of high temperature. This is an accident which claimed one life...a high level team comprising city magistrate, assistant labour commissioner and other officials is probing the incident," said Bhanu Pratap Singh, Superintendent of Police, Firozabad.

Singh also assured that the police would take appropriate action if inquiry suggested some negligence on the part of the management. (ANI)
