Islamabad, Sun, 13 Dec 2009 ANI

Islamabad, Dec. 13 (ANI): As part of the ongoing reshuffle of the Pakistani cabinet, Interior Minister Rehman Malik's much talked about portfolio change seems imminent.

According to The Nation, federal Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira is likely to replace Malik.

"Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is going to substitute Interior Minister Rehman Malik with Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira. However, it is not yet decided where Rehman Malik would be relocated," the paper quoted a government source, as saying.

Earlier, the portfolio of three cabinet ministers were changed.

The party source also revealed that Gilani wanted to make reshuffle the Cabinet at once but some senior leaders urged him to delay it for the time being, as the government is already faced with a critical situation.

On being asked who is likely to replace Kaira as the information minister, the sources said that Gilnai could choose either Sherry Rehman or Fozia Wahab for the position. (ANI)
