Pulwama, Sun, 16 Aug 2009 ANI

Pulwama, Aug 16 (ANI): One Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Sunday.

On receiving information, a combing operation was launched jointly by police and army personnel in Barmullah, 40 km from Srinagar.

According to a police spokesman, they were attacked by militants hiding in some houses.

Meanwhile, after heavy shelling at the Ballar post along Indo-Pak border, massive search operations are carried out by the security forces in the entire Samba sector today.

It is suspected that some militants numbering five to ten might have been able to infiltrate into Indian territory during undercover firing by Pakistani forces. (ANI)
