Rwanda is Suffering From Refugee Concerns

Rwanda, an African country that is located near Tanzania, Burundi and Uganda, has dealt with a number of different concerns over the years. These concerns have caused a number of people around the country to leave for other places around Africa.

There have been some concerns over the way how Rwanda treats its citizens. The Rwandan Patriotic Front, a rebel group that consists of people who were exiled from Rwanda when individual factors in Rwanda were in disputes with each other. The RPF fought with forces in Rwanda. This got to the point where a full genocide of people occurred in Rwanda. This caused a large number of people to leave the country.

The number of refugees that were created as a result of this civil war and its resulting genocide is not fully clear. It is estimated that at least a million different refugees left Rwanda to other countries. The number of people who have yet to return back to Rwanda is unknown.

A big reason why some refugees are not willing to come back is due to the risk of recriminations. These include charges from courts that stem from the genocides.

There are some concerns over how some of these refugees might be trying to take back Rwanda. Some groups of refugees have been formed in the neighboring Democratic Republic of the Congo. These refugees are expected to be interested in trying to fight back and occupy Rwanda. The border between these two countries is highly protected today.

A drought has also made refugee concerns in the country worse. A drought in Rwanda occurred in 2006. This killed off many of the crops in the country, thus causing a number of people to flock to other countries that are healthier and might have more resources to work with.
