Risks in the Central African Republic
The Central African Republic is located in central Africa. It is directly north
of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The country has been subjected to a
number of severe concerns with regards to warfare and illness. The human
trafficking situation in the country is especially worrisome.
The country has dealt with a number of fights between itself and Sudan over
resources. These include such things as water and crops. There have especially
been a number of violent fights around the border between the Central African
Republic and Sudan. These disputes have been ongoing.
Also, the Central African Republic has been subjected to many concerns about
health. AIDS has been a severe concern around the country for decades. This has
caused mortality rates and life expectancy rates around the country to be much
lower than what it is for other parts of Africa.
The transportation system around the country is another risk. This system is
made difficult by the fact that the country is entirely landlocked inside five
other countries. There are some waterways around the border with the DRC but
these have been very dangerous.
The risks involved with these waterways have caused many importers to go through
different countries when trying to send things out to other countries. This may
also be responsible for the lack of support with regards to health concerns in
the country. Critical health resources are not being made available in the
country.
Human trafficking is also a problem in the Central African Republic. There are
severe concerns that the country?s government is not doing enough to improve the
human trafficking situation. This has allowed all sorts of groups to continue to
traffic people into forced labor positions and even into military service. There
are also some cases where people are being trafficked into sexual slavery.
