One might want to take a quick peek at some of the things to do and don't at Surajkund crafts Mela Haryana before setting off. It is a high time and thousand are heading to the small town of Surajkund for the 26th Surajkund Crafts fair, which has started recently.
Things to DO:
List starts with the opening ceremony that is the first day of the fair February 1, 2012. There are opening performances that will be delivered by the performers of theme state Assam (every year a state is selected on whose culture and traditions the theme of the fair is organized).

Shopping is a must and is un-avoided once you enter the fair, which is filled with amazing and unique items not from the different states of India but also from the foreign countries. There are things for everyone delight: embroidery, clothes and ornaments for the females, toys and books for the kids and household items to decorate your home.
Other than these 400 and more famous craftsmen who have collected here from every corner of the country and also from abroad showcase a collection of artwork, craftwork, finest handicrafts and handlooms. This can be seen and enjoyed and bought by the visitors.
Then there are cultural programs that will start at 6 pm in the evening and will continue till late at night. The list of the cultural programs that one can and must see is given under:
On the second day of the fair there will be a Medley performance by foreign cultural troupes of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgystan & Congo.
3rd day will be unique, as the designers will present a fashion Show on Khadi.
The evening of the 5th day is for the fusion of traditional and western/contemporary dance and music, which will be presented by veteran Dinesh Yadav.
Hasya Kavi Samelan is organized on 7th day, which will be presented by renowned Dinesh Raghuvanshi.
8th day will see a blend of fusion Kathak.
Niami Bandhu will present Qawali on 10th day of the fair.
The night of 12th day will see a band performance, Band and Rock by Padamjeet Sherawat.
Azaadi The Band will present a show on 14th day of the fair.
15th February 2012 being the last day of 26th Suraj Kund Craft Fair will have a closing ceremony.
Things to be Avoided:
There are certain points that should be kept in mind by all the people who are planning to make a visit to this fair.
Being an eco friendly fair it strictly makes a ban on use of any plastic materials. Nothing in the fair has plastic in it. It is advised not to bring any plastic material with you, as it will not be allowed inside.
Than comes the behavior, being a public place it is expected that the visitor must maintain the decorum of the fair. Any misconduct will not be tolerated.
Your visit to the fair can be memorable if you enjoy the fair and be a part of it without any misconduct.
