This year the cultural attractions of 26th Suraj Kund Craft Fair will be the representation of culture, tradition and rituals by Thailand, SAARC countries, Uzbekistan, Kyrgystan and Congo. The craftsmen from these places have come to showcase their handicraft, handloom, artwork, dance and tradition.

People from every corner of the country and from abroad have started to gather in Suraj Kund where Suraj Kund Craft Fair has started from February 1, 2012 and will end on February 15, 2012. Last year Suraj Kund Craft Fair Association recorded a footfall of 7.5-lakh visitors, this time they are expecting it to reach 10 lakh.

Since 1987, Suraj Kund Craft Fair is held every year. It?s a place where one can see mixture of culture of various states and countries, dance forms and artwork.

This time 400 and more renowned crafts men from every corner of India and from abroad have taken a halt in Suraj Kund to showcase their finest handicraft and handloom work.

This year ?Apna Ghar? is the highlight of Suraj Kund Crafts Fair, which will depict Haryana?s culture, themes and atmosphere.

There are many cultural programs that can people can look forward to:

2. Medley by Foreign Cultural troupes Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgystan & Congo (2nd February 2012)

3. Fashion Show on Khadi (3rd February 2012)

4. Fusion of traditional and western/contemporary dance and music by Dinesh Yadav, NSD (5th February 2012)

5. Hasya Kavi Samelan by Dinesh Raghuvanshi (7th February 2012)

6. Blend of Fusion Kathak (8th February 2012)

7. Qawali by Niami Bandhu (10th February 2012)

8. Band and Rock by Padamjeet Sherawat (12th February 2012)

9. Azaadi The Band (14th February 2012)

10. Closing Ceremony (15th February 2012)

Cultural programs will start from 6pm and will go on till 10pm. However, the Fair entry is from 9:30am in the morning till 7pm in the evening.

Visitors can also taste different cuisines of every state and country participating in the mini food festival that is held year.

Two week long Suraj Kund Craft Fair is all set to present different taste, color and artwork to the craft lover. It will catch your heart and soul. Besides all the works presented that people can see and buy there will be cultural programs held every day that people can look forward to. 

Situated in the outskirts of Faridabad Haryana, this city hosts Suraj Kund Craft Fair every year. Just 8 kms away from New Delhi, Suraj Kund can be reached through busses arranged specially for this fair. These busses can be boarded from New Delhi.
