Surajkund Mela is such a fair held annually in Faridabad, a part of Delhi-NCR. More than being a place to rejoice, it offers a platform to showcase the handloom and handicrafts from around the country. Situated on the outskirts of Delhi, the fair receives a large number of visitors who come here to catch the local arts and crafts from the regions and country. The fair organized every year by the Haryana Tourism Department has become popular among art and craft loving souls. Come February and you will see the mass exodus to this tiny place that remains obscure in other months of the year.

Known internationally as Surajkund Crafts Mela this annual event is full of entertainment and fun loving activities. In an open ambience more than 400 artisans and craftsmen will showcase their magnum opus to a large numbers of visitors who will appreciate and buy these crafts. Apart from regional and national craftsmen the craftsperson from SAARC nations will also be there to exhibit their talent. In addition to this there will be a wide array of drool inducing delicacies to entertain your taste buds.

This year Surajkund fair will be organized between 1st-15th February. And state of Assam will be theme state this year, those who are of the opinion that the craft industry is dying should visit this fair once as there will be eclectic collection of paintings, textiles, ivory work, terracotta, pottery, stonework, lac work and cane and grass work where skill of local craftsmen will be on its elegant best.

It is easy to reach Surajkund Mela as this place is well connected to road and rail networks. The nearest airport is New Delhi while nearest major stations are New Delhi and Faridabad. Those living in Delhi can board Delhi metro up to Badarpur border.
