The key features of Surajkund Craft Fair this year include the special performances that will be presented by many foreign countries participating in this fair. Besides, there will be many cultural performances by renowned artist and dancers.
Highlight of 26th Surajkund Crafts Fair is an Apna Ghar, which will showcase the tradition, culture, color and rituals that are being followed traditionally in Haryana, a state of India.
Assam is selected as the theme state of this year's fair and will have the privilege to present their culture, myths, architecture, art and dance during the fair and in the cultural programs. It will have a cultural performance on 1st February 2012, which is also the inauguration day of Surajkund Craft Fair. It will also have a performance on the nights of 4th February 2012 and 13th February 2012.
A Medley performance by foreign cultural troupes of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgystan and Congo is also on the list that will be performed on the evening of 2nd February 2012. Thailand (the partner of this fair) and SAARC countries besides the name mentioned above are participating in the fair as well.
From fashion show that will be presented on 3rd February 2012 to Odissi dance on the evening of 4th February 2012 there is lot to look forward to once a person decide to visit the Surajkund Fair.
7th February will have a Hasya Kavi Samelan on 7th February 2012 by famous Kavi Dinesh Raghuvanshi.
People from every corner of India are turning up to the small town of Surajkund situated on the outskirt of Faridabad Haryana just 20 kms away from New Delhi. Even the participants and 400 renowned craftsmen from around the globe are making a halt in this fair to show case the finest of their artwork. This fair is the best place to see one tradition meeting other especially of the other countries.
Finest handicraft and handloom works can be seen during the two-week long fair by 400 or more renowned craftsmen, which have taken shelter here in Surajkund.
Surajkund Crafts Fair was first started in 1987 and since then it has been one of the famous tourist places of Haryana, it is famous for its platform for craftsmen and others to present their best work and at the same time being the visitors delight.
People coming here have something or the other that will keep you busy and on your toe whole day. The fair entry is from 9:30am in the morning till 7 p:m in the evening. One can roam and enjoy the fair and at the same time can buy the things they like.
Cultural programs will start from 6pm and will go on till 10 pm.
The Surajkund Crafts Fair Association has made special arrangement of buses for the visitors who want to be a part of this amazing fair. Boarding of such buses is from New Delhi.
