Welcome to the spectacular and awe-inspiring art and crafts fair at Surajkund Faridabad Haryana. This is the 26th Surajkund Craft Fair that is being held here. It has gain acknowledgement to be a fair of finest handicraft and handloom work, to be a fair where many tradition get along and to be a fair where craft lover and art worshiper come in huge numbers.
When it was first started in 1987 little Government of Haryana had a hint that it will grow to this extent that last year it recorded a footfall of 7.5 lakh and this year the Surajkund Craft Fair Association is already expecting it to touch 10 lakh.
Assam got the privilege this year to be the theme state of the fair, (a theme state for the fair is decided every year). Visitors will be acquainted with the traditions, architecture, colors, embroidery, handloom and artwork of Assam.
A visitor can roam in the fair all day seeing and enjoying the color and buying the beautiful and unique things that are been presented in the fair. In the night there are various cultural programs arranged to delight the coming tourist. These cultural programs will start from 6 pm in the evening and will continue till late night. However, the fair entry is from 8 am in the morning till 5.30 pm in the evening.
There will be a cultural performance by the theme state Assam that will depict the tradition of its state. |

This fair is not only the blend of different cultures and tradition of Indian states but also it is the place to get familiarize with the tradition of different foreign countries participating. Such is the acknowledgement of this fair that this year countries like Uzbekistan, Kyrgystan, Congo, Thailand (which is also the partner of this fair) and SAARC countries have sent their best performers to present the tradition and color of their countries.
Surajkund is a small town on the outskirt of Faridabad Haryana. One can reach there by the special buses that are arranged by Surajkund Craft Fair Association, it is just 8 kms from New Delhi.
