With the beginning of spring season, the much-awaited Surajkund Craft Fair commences with zeal and feeling of pleasure at its scheduled date from 01st February. This 26th version of Surajkund Fair is waiting for huge numbers of visitors who visit to Surajkund Craft Fair 2012 and enjoy the shopping of some the finest quality of handicrafts and handmade products and watch the cultural activities dipped in vivid colours.
Surajkund, also known as 'The sun lake' is one of the finest Tourist places of Haryana due to containing several tourist places including artificial reservoir, Anagpur Dam, Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary the panoramic view of Aravalli hills.
To mark the tourism importance of Surajkund, the Haryana government took an initiative in 1987 by organising a national handicraft fair with the collaboration of Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Government of India, at spring season. The fair became too popular as since then it became a permanent schedule. The popularity of this fair rose as the time passed and now it has become an iconic craft fair in India in which not only Indian states but overseas countries began to participate in it.
This year too SAARC nation and neighbouring countries along with Thailand, the partner nation of this fair is participating in 26th Surajkund Handicraft Fair 2012.
'Assamese culture' is the theme of this fair as Asom is the leading partner of this renowned fair.
All the stalls, stages, theatre will be designed and developed in Assamese style and you can see here the vivid culture of India and participating nations.
An open-air theatre 'Natyasala' has been design where visitors can enjoy the colorful cultural program set to begin from 6:00 p.m., however, other cultural activities will carry on daily from 09:30 p.m. to late evening.
Besides enjoying the cultural program, you can also enjoy the fun of shopping of the finest handicrafts and handmade products including handloom clothes, silk clothes, paintings, textiles, wood stock, ivory work, pottery, terracotta, stonework, lacquer work, mirror embroidery work and cane and grass work.

For others: Rs.50/- per head

Travelling to 26th Surajkund craft fair is not a difficult task for outsiders as several local public and private vehicles including Bus, Auto, Taxi, Shared Auto and Metro Train are available for conveyance. You can reach here by de-boarding to the nearest Railway Station or Inter-State Bus Station. As, Surajkund lies 8 kms from South Delhi at Faridabad district, the nearest Railway Station is New Delhi, Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin and Faridabad Railway Station while Kashmiri Gate ISBT, Sarai Kale Khan ISBT and Faridabad ISBT are the nearest Bus Stand. By air you can de-board at Indira Gandhi International Airport, (IGI Airport), New Delhi.
