Students of Mahila Maha Vidyalaya celebrate Janmashtami to show women empowerment

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Sep 03 (ANI): Students of Mahila Maha Vidyalaya in Banaras Hindu University (BHU) celebrated Janmashtami on campus. In the ‘Krishna-Leela’ organised by the students, only girls participated. The students portrayed different characters, phases of Krishna’s life. Girls played the role of Krishna’s maternal uncle, ‘Kans’, others became ‘Radha’, ‘Vasudev’ and different stages of Krishna’s life. Through the portrayal of different characters of Krishna’s story, these girls showed women empowerment. One of the students said, “Through this portrayal of Krishna-Leela the students give message of victory of truth over evil. It also shows women empowerment as girls present the story of Krishna to everyone.”
