New Delhi, Nov.24 (ANI): Princess Astrid of Belgium on Sunday visited India Gate, and paid a floral tribute at the 'Amar Jawan Jyoti', and inaugurated the Flower Carpet in commemoration of World War I soldiers.
The Princess is on a week-long-visit to India and arrived on Saturday with a 300-member business delegation to boost bilateral trade relations.
The visit aims to strengthen Belgium's relationship with India, particularly in trade and investment.
During the visit, Princess Astrid will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Textiles Anand Sharma, and other senior leaders of the Central Government.
The Princess is also to hold business meetings with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) president Naina Lal Kidwai.
The delegation will also visit Mumbai and Chennai to meet senior leaders, and explore new areas of trade. (ANI)
