Will support GST if demands are met: Congress

New Delhi, Nov 28 (ANI): Reacting on the ongoing deadlock over the Goods and Services Tax bill in the Parliament, Congress leaders on Saturday said that they will extend their support only if their demands are met. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said the party can give a green signal to the Goods and Services Tax Bill (GST) in the Parliament only if the Centre comes out with a formula for addressing their three demands. Meanwhile, Congress leader Manish Tewari launched a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that those who were against the legislation during the UPA rule are now desperate to pass it. In a move intended to break the deadlock over the bill, the Prime Minister had yesterday invited Congress president Sonia Gandhi and his predecessor Manmohan Singh over tea, highlighting the need for consensual approach in the smooth functioning of the Parliament.
