Watch: Devotees take holy dip at Ganga to celebrate its first descent on Earth
Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 22 (ANI): People in Varanasi took the holy dip in Ganga to celebrate the festival ‘Ganga Dussehra’, which marks the descent of river Ganges on Earth. The priests performed rituals on the banks of the river and chanted hymns as the devotees offered prayers and sought blessings. The day is celebrated with a ritual bath in the river. In Mathura and Vrindavan, temples held special ‘darshans’ of the presiding deity amid a riot of white flowers and fragrance.
