Virbhadra resigns over corruption charges
New Delhi, June 26 (ANI): Union Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Virbhadra Singh has resigned today after the Shimla court framed corruption charges against him for allegedly misusing his office when he was the Himachal Pradesh chief minister in 1989. Virbhadra Singh has handed over his resignation letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who has accepted it. Defending himself, Virbhadra Singh today said that the evidences have been fabricated against him adding that he has resigned, as he does not want to embarrass his party. The charges were framed against 78 year old Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh under Section 120 B (conspiracy) of IPC and Sections 7,11 and 13 of Prevention of Corruption Act.
