Violent scuffle between widows of farmers and police outside Fadnavis's residence
Nagpur, August 29 (ANI): A violent scuffle took place between the widows of farmers and police outside Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's residence in Nagpur on Saturday. The widows had come to tie rakhi to Fadnavis and put forth their demands. The women tried to barge inside the residence; however, they were stopped by the police personnel. The widows along with locals were protesting against the loss in crops due to unseasonal rainfall. Maharashtra is one of the states that experienced severe agrarian crisis and Amravati division in Vidarbha region has witnessed many suicide cases of farmers this year.
