Upset about demolition of homes, residents vandalise buses in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, March 28 (ANI): In order to vent out their anger against the demolition of their houses, residents in Ahmedabad went on a rampage on Saturday. During a drive by the municipal corporation to demolish houses constructed illegally, angry residents pelted stones at buses and clashed with police officials present at the scene. Police resorted to baton-charge to quell the crowd. However, the situation was soon brought under control. Inspector General (Rural), Rajiv Ranjan, said that the traffic flow had been restored to normal. Police officials continue to be deployed in the area to ensure that the demolition drive goes on uninterrupted.
