US envoy says America is strongly against release of Lakhvi
New Delhi, May 06 (ANI): US ambassador to India Richard Verma on Wednesday said that his country was against the release of the mastermind behind 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, by a Pakistani court. Ten gunmen infiltrated the city by boat and spent three days spraying bullets and throwing grenades around city landmarks, killing 166 people. On April 10, a Pakistani court acquitted Lakhvi, leader of a Pakistan-based militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, on bail. Verma said that United States was against terrorist and condemn such moves.
